Disinformation in particular is an area that fascinates (and equally terrifies) me. Ahead of the 2025 Australian federal election, we presented at the ISACA Canberra Chapter monthly meetup. We explored the concepts of:

- The origins of disinformation
- The use of AI to perpetuate specific malicious narratives, especially ahead of elections
- AI-powered tools like Meliorator
- Comparisons of the key offenders in interference and disinformation
The nature and relevancy of the topic meant we got an incredible turnout for the event, and a great discussion on what to expect ahead of the Australian federal election.
